Redmi seems to be gearing up for its next flagship smartphones, and fresh leaks are already creating buzz. According to recent reports, Xiaomi’s sub-brand may soon introduce the Redmi K100 series, which is expected to include two models — Redmi K100 and Redmi K100 Pro Max.
These phones could later become the next Poco flagship devices for global markets, just like earlier Redmi K-series launches.
Powerful Snapdragon Chips Expected
Performance looks like a major focus this time. Leaks suggest that Redmi plans to use top-end Qualcomm processors for both phones.
The regular Redmi K100 is expected to run on the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, which is already one of Qualcomm’s most powerful chips. Meanwhile, the Redmi K100 Pro Max could go a step further by featuring the upcoming Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 — a processor that hasn’t even been officially announced yet.
If this turns out to be true, the Pro Max model could deliver serious performance gains.
Model Numbers and Codenames Revealed
The leak also gives us a peek behind the scenes with internal codenames:
- Redmi K100 – Codename: Athens (Model Q11)
- Redmi K100 Pro Max – Codename: Songyuan (Model Q11X)
Redmi has also changed how it names its top models. Earlier, higher variants used a “U” tag, but now the brand seems to be using “X” for its Max models.
Poco Launch Likely for Global Users
Just like previous years, the Redmi K100 series is expected to stay China-only. But global users don’t need to worry.
Reports suggest:
- Redmi K100 → Poco F9 Pro
- Redmi K100 Pro Max → Poco F9 Ultra
This is the same strategy Redmi used with the K90 series, which later launched worldwide as the Poco F8 lineup.
When Could They Launch?
Nothing is official yet, but Redmi usually follows a fixed pattern. The Redmi K90 series launched in China in October 2025, and the global Poco versions followed a month later.
If history repeats itself, we can expect the Redmi K100 series to launch towards the end of 2026.
Final Thoughts
If these leaks are accurate, the Redmi K100 lineup could be a big win for performance lovers. With next-gen Snapdragon chips and aggressive pricing (as Redmi is known for), these phones might shake up the flagship market once again — especially when they arrive globally as Poco models.
