Both are tempered glass. The difference is how they stick to your screen.
Which one does your phone need?
Look at your screen from the side. If the glass bends down at the edges, it's curved.
How UV glass actually sticks
A normal glass has a dry adhesive layer. UV glass uses liquid glue that hardens under a small UV lamp, usually included in the kit.
- 1Cover the speaker grille, ports and side buttons with tape first.
- 2Clean the screen and put a thin line of glue down the middle. Less is better.
- 3Line the glass up, then lower it and let the glue spread on its own.
- 4Wipe any glue at the edges, then cure under the lamp for the full time on the kit.
The downsides of UV glass
UV glass solves the curved-edge problem, but it isn't risk-free. Here's what can go wrong.

Normal glass for flat screens
On a flat screen, a normal glass sits fully flat. It costs a lot less and you can swap it yourself in a minute.

Is UV tempered glass good?+
Yes, for curved screens, because it's the only glass type that sticks to the curve. On a flat screen a normal glass does the same job with less hassle.
Is there a universal UV glass that fits any phone?+
Avoid it. Curved screens differ in size, curve and cut-outs, so buy the UV glass made for your exact model, like the Vivo S2 UV glass.
Can I get tempered glass without UV for a curved phone?+
A normal glass on a curved screen will lift at the edges, so we only stock UV glass for curved models. If you'd rather skip liquid glue, rely on a case with a raised lip and get UV glass fitted at a shop later.
Can I put UV glass on a flat screen?+
Yes, it works, and we stock one for the flat Motorola Edge 70. Just mask the ports first, as with any UV glass.
What is the UV tempered glass price?+
Ours cost ₹190 to ₹192 depending on the model. A normal glass for a flat phone is ₹50.
